The Office of Inspector General has initiated research on the EPA’s Watch List, which according to EPA is “to facilitate dialogue between EPA, state and local environmental agencies on enforcement matters relating to facilities with alleged violations identified as either significant or high priority.” The facilities on the list have not been cited with a violation and instead includes cases “primarily because of the length of time the alleged violation has gone unaddressed or unresolved.” The Watch List has been published every month since January 2004 and is made available to the public.
